Arrived here about 4.30pm on Sunday from Tallinn, journey was much better than our previous experience on Latvian roads 'cause we stuck to the larger roads with the added luxury of tarmac. Wandered around the town today. We were given candles for our tour of the castle, so you could see going up / down the tour !. Visited church & climbed to top of tower, there were lots of small bells with names & messages up in the tour. Quite a few parks in the town, all immaculate & with nice water features. Have a look at the pretty peach & cream coloured building, I was very surprised when I read the plaque describing its previous use. The colourful church is the Russian Orthodox church.
